DEARBORN, MI — Voters in Dearborn took to the polls Tuesday to cast their votes in the primary election for mayor, city council and two proposals.

Dearborn Mayor John B. O'Reilly, who has served in the position since 2007, is not seeking re-election. After devastating storms in late June, O'Reilly came under criticism from residents who felt he was not providing regular updates about the city's plan.

O'Reilly released a statement saying a "health issue" made his ability to attend and speak at public events and news conferences difficult. O'Reilly and his wife recovered from the coronavirus in April of last year.
