DEARBORN, MI — If you plan it right, the snacks at your football watch party Feb. 11 will be as much discussed as the key plays. When we asked Dearborn readers to submit their MVP-worthy recipes, Deb Walsh submitted this recipe:

Muffaletta sandwich, Bread & Spread made from scratch, newer tradition in our house (3rd year)

  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons fast-action yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/4 cups room-temperature water
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds untoasted
  • Olive recipe is linked here. You can look up the meat and cheeses online to build the sandwich.

You can still submit recipes for appetizers, dishes or snacks to inspire others who are fourth and long and short on ideas. Be sure to tell us why your guests will do a touchdown dance over your party spread.
