Dearborn’s Tree Lighting, Sing-Along Set For Dec. 3

It's time for Dearborn's annual tree lighting and sing-along.

DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn will mark the holiday season Monday, Dec. 3, with the city’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and sing-along at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.

The free event, a longstanding Dearborn tradition, gets underway at 6 p.m. with a performance by the Dearborn Youth Symphony String Quartet in the lobby of the Michael A. Guido Theater.

At 6:40 p.m., the festivities will move outside the theater’s west entrance for the ceremonial lighting of the city Christmas tree by Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr., assisted by six-year-old Abdullah Mohamed from Nowlin Elementary School.

The in-theater portion of the evening will conclude with Mayor O’Reilly leading an audience sing-along, featuring some of the best known songs of the holiday season.
Following the sing-along, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate will be available in the lobby, and Santa Clause will welcome young children in Studio A.
