Dearborn Schools Board Selects New Trustee
Dearborn resident Ali K. Bazzi was appointed to the Dearborn Public Schools Board of Education.

DEARBORN, MI β The Dearborn Public Schools Board of Education selected a new trustee on Monday.
The board picked Dearborn resident Ali K. Bazzi to fill one of two vacant spots on the board. He will serve until November 2026. He will join the board next Monday.
Bazzi is the founder of Progressive Management Company and Archer Creative. He is also part of the Zaman International advisory board, runs the organizationβs Run Walk Picnic and was an advocate in the campaign supporting the passage of the districtβs 2023 Operating Millage Renewal.

The seat became open after trustee Irene Watts resigned from the board on Aug. 11 when she and her family had moved out of the district. The board is expected to fill the second vacant seat next week. That seat became open after trustee Hussein Berry stepped down on Aug. 18.
School officials said an unprecedented 39 people applied to fill one of the two vacant positions.
