I would like to nominate my daughter, Teri [Last Name], for recognition on Michigan Patch for the outstanding work she does as a school social worker in Dearborn. Teri goes above and beyond in supporting her students at Fordson High School, where she is not only a second-generation alumna, but also now guiding her own daughter toward becoming a third-generation Fordson Tracter. Last year, she served at Dearborn High School, making a difference in the lives of countless students there as well. Her dedication extends far beyond academics. Teri is there for incoming freshmen who may feel overwhelmed by the transition, for students struggling with family or personal challenges, and even for those navigating everyday teenage worries like friendships and relationships. She meets each student with empathy, understanding, and a great sense of humor that makes her approachable and trusted. Her office reflects her heartβitβs decorated in fun, welcoming colors, designed to put students at ease and create a safe, comfortable space where they can open up. Students know they have someone who truly listens and cares. Teri embodies what it means to serve her community with compassion, patience, and joy. She is an example of Fordsonβs proud tradition, and I believe she deserves recognition for the positive impact she makes every single day.
