Dearborn Teen Killed In Southfield Freeway Rollover Crash: Police

Police said the 19-year-old man was speeding north on the freeway near Plymouth Road where he lost control and the car rolled over.

DETROIT — A Dearborn teen was killed Tuesday afternoon in a rollover crash on the Southfield Freeway in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.

Police said the 19-year-old man was speeding north on the freeway near Plymouth Road where he lost control and the car rolled over.

The teen was partially ejected from his seat, but still trapped inside the car, according to police.

Officers removed him from the car and took him to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.

"This is another preventable crash with a serious injury," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "We continue to see these same risky dangerous driving behaviors leading to serious injuries and fatalities on our roadways. We continue to remind drivers to drive the speed limit, limit distractions and do not drive impaired."
