Lapeer Pool In Dearborn To Open Saturday

DEARBORN, MI — The Lapeer Pool in Dearborn will be opening Saturday, city officials announced, just in time for another heat wave.

Officials said Lapeer Pool will operate on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.

In order to open the Lapeer Park neighborhood pool, lifeguards must be shared with Ten Eyck pool, meaning the Ten Eyck pool will no longer be open seven days a week. Instead, it will be open on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The new Ford Woods pool complex in the east end will continue to operate seven days per week, officials said. All pools will be open on their respective days from 12-8 p.m.

Officials also announced that the price of entry to the pools has recently been lowered for residents.

Daily rates for the neighborhood pool at Ten Eyck Park and Lapeer Park are: $3 for residents, $7 for guests and $12 for nonresidents.

Daily fees for the Ford Woods Pool are $5 for residents, $9 for guests of a resident and $14 for nonresidents.

Also open are three splash pads at Hemlock, Whitmore-Bolles and Crowley parks. The splash pads are free and operate 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

Public health protocols are required at all Dearborn pools, officials said. Capacity is limited to 50 percent. Masks must be worn to enter or exit the pool area, and at any time while patrons are walking around. Patrons must stay 6 feet away from anyone not in their household, both in and out of the water.

At Ford Woods, temperature checks are required before entering the pool’s bathhouse.
