TAYLOR, MI — Construction crews are set to begin major road work on Telegraph Road in Wayne County, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
The $18.5 million project will replace two bridges and improve four bridges on Telegraph Road from the Telegraph Road/Interstate 75 connector to Mercier Avenue, just north of Eureka Road, according to officials.
Crews will also make repairs to the Telegraph Road connector between Interstate 75 and Eureka Road, according to officials.

Beginning in mid-March, the northbound Interstate 75 connector between Interstate 75 and Telegraph Road will be closed for the bridge and road repairs through late fall, according to officials.
Traffic will be detoured to northbound Interstate 75, past the connector, to northbound Southfield Road, then westbound Interstate 94 to northbound Telegraph Road, according to officials.

In early April, northbound Telegraph Road will be reduced to one lane through late fall from Pennsylvania Road to north of Eureka Road for bridge replacement over the Frank and Poet Drain, according to officials.
There will not be a designated detour but drivers may want to avoid the area, according to officials.
In 2025, work will occur on the southbound side of Telegraph Road near Eureka Road and the southbound Interstate 75 connector to rebuild and repairs bridges, according to officials.
