Motown Legend Thelma Houston To Perform In Dearborn
The event marks the 60th anniversary of Motown.

DEARBORN MI β Motown is making its way to Dearborn. Music legend Thelma Houston will help celebrate Motownβs 60th Anniversary Saturday, June 29, with a performance of βMy Motown Memories & More,β at Dearbornβs Michael A. Guido Theater, beginning at 8 p.m.
In βMy Motown Memories & More,β Houston shares her inspiring life story through an amazing musical journey that includes many popular Motown songs and insightful remembrances.
A limited number of special two-day ticket packages, priced at $65, are available, that include a prime seat for the show, a chance to meet Houston on June 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Motown Museumβlocated at 2648 W. Grand Blvd in Detroitβand tour the facility, and a photo opportunity with Houston the day of the performance.

Houston signed with Capitol Recordsβhome of the Beatles, Nat King Cole and Nancy Wilsonβin 1967 and released her first hit song, "Baby Mine."
Houston moved on to Motown Records, joining such popular artists as Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye.

While at Motown, Houstonβs high-powered rendition of "Don't Leave Me This Way," earned her the Grammy Award for βBest Female R&B Vocal Performance.β
βMy Motown Memories & Moreβ is a lively, memory-filled show featuring a non-stop parade of instantly recognizable Motown hits, including βAinβt Nothing Like the Real Thing,β βDancing in the Streets,β βI Heard it Through the Grapevine,β βPlease Mr. Postman,β βHeatwave,β βDo You Know Where Youβre Going,β βDonβt Leave Me this Way,β and her latest single βI Still Love you.β
Tickets, ranging in price from $25 to $45, are available at dearborntheater.com and at the theater box office, open Thursday through Saturday from 12-7 p.m.
