New Council Members Aim For Change In Dearborn
Newcomers Erin Byrnes and Leslie Herrick will focus on quality of life and public safety.

DEARBORN, MI. — For Dearborn City Council newcomers Erin Byrnes and Leslie Herrick, quality of life and public safety are issues they plan to address sooner rather than later. Byrnes, the current chair of the city’s beautiful commission, aims to make both of Dearborn’s downtowns vibrant while Herrick wants to make sure police and fire are operating as efficiently as possible, according to a Press and Guide report.
“My goal is to be accessible to all our residents and make sure their hopes for the city are heard and their concerns addressed,” said Byrnes, 32. “I’m really excited to get to work.”
“Slowing down drivers whether it’s on our residential streets or county thoroughfares, and making sure it’s safe to ride a bike on the street without taking a tumble is important to them,” Herrick said.
