Missing Metro Detroit Girl, 16, May Be Sex Trafficking Victim: Police

Police said the teen​ ran away from a social services housing facility and has a history of being sexually abused.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — Police are searching for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing for more than 30 days and may be in danger after running away from Vista Maria in Dearborn Heights.

Tasia Keaton ran away from the social services housing facility on March 14 and was subsequently last seen in the Detroit area, police said.

Police said Keaton has a history of being sexually abused and may be in a similar situation now.

Keaton was seen on surveillance video either later that night on March 14 or in the early morning hours on March 15 in the area of Stout Street and Joy Road in Detroit where she was picked up by a man, police said.

Police believe she was then taken to a hotel and assaulted before she was returned to the Stout and Joy area.

On March 17, Keaton was seen on surveillance video being picked up by a different man and taken to a Redford hotel where police believe she was again assaulted and then brought back, police said.

Keaton was then last seen on surveillance video walking south on Beech Daly from Joy Road on March 17, police said.

Investigators haven't had any footage or contact with her since.

Multiple metro Detroit police departments are helping with the investigation.

Police asked anyone with information about Keaton's whereabouts to call the Dearborn Heights Police Department at 313-277-6770, Crimestoppers or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST, or 911.

Police are offering a $8,000 reward for information.
