A popular Wayne County butcher shop is planning to close after more than 60 years in business, according to a social media post.

TAYLOR, MI — A popular Wayne County butcher shop is planning to close after more than 60 years in business, according to a social media post.

Ray’s Prime Foods, located on Eureka Road in Taylor, in plans to close down its shop in February 2024, according to the post.

The butcher shop is known for their smokes meats, grain-fed pork, a full line of western grain-fed beef, southern ice-pack poultry and seafood. The shop opened in 1961.

"The store has operated for over 62 years and includes many multi-generational families of shoppers. You will all be missed. Thank you everybody for all the great years," the post read.
