UM-Dearborn Inaugurates New Chancellor
Domenico Grasso will serve as the university's sixth chancellor.

DEARBORN, MI — The University of Michigan-Dearborn will formally install Domenico Grasso as the university’s sixth chancellor on Friday, April 12. Grasso’s official duties for the university began in August 2018, following the U-M Board of Regents’ unanimous approval of his appointment.

Grasso’s inaugural address will honor UM-Dearborn’s legacy as a regional university while defining his objectives for the university’s future. In December 2018, Grasso announced a yearlong focus on strategic planning, saying, “This [is] a big opportunity to really rethink what we’re doing at the University of Michigan, at Dearborn. There are major opportunities ahead; and this is what we have to capture.”
