Council President Thomas Tafelski is disputing whether city attorney Debra Walling handed Councilwoman Nancy Hubbard an endorsement statement to read.
Dearborn City Council President Thomas Tafelski is filing a ethics complaint against Debra Walling, corporation counsel for the city of Dearborn.
Tafelski says that he believes Walling violated the city's ethics guidelines by preparing a written political endorsement statement for outgoing councilwoman Nancy Hubbard to read at Tuesday's council meeting.
Walling and Hubbard both dispute the claim. Hubbard had planned to read the statement to clarify who she was endorsing in the Nov. 5 election. Hubbard said an email from the group "Let's Reclaim Dearborn!" that is being circulated online misrepresents her opinion.
This video, provided by CDTV, shows Walling placing an unknown envelope on Hubbard's desk prior to Tuesday's meeting.
