WDIV: Dearborn Officer Injured After Police Chase
Television station reports that injury was not life-threatening.

A Dearborn police officer was injured after a chase ended in a crash and gunfire Friday, according to a report by WDIV-TV. The person police were chasing also was injured.
Both injuries were non-life-threatening.
The chase occurred after police heard a report of a silver car weaving in and out of traffic. When police tried to approach the vehicle, the car sped off through neighborhood streets before the car crashed into a delivery truck on Schaefer and Haggerty.

WDIV reported that when an officer confronted the suspect, the suspect bumped him with the car.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said the officer did fire shots at the suspect, according to the TV station.

The incident drew concern from one reader of Dearborn Patch, who posted on the site’s Facebook page after seeing several police cars on Schaefer between Warren and Ford.
