$1K Reward Offered For Tips In Detroit Fireworks Shooting
Police said two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting.

DETROIT — Police are offering a $1,000 award for information in a shooting that left two people hurt Monday just before the fireworks show in downtown Detroit.
The shooting happened at 10:04 p.m. Monday near Larned and Randolph streets, near the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, just before the fireworks started, police said.
Police said a 17-year-old boy and a 22-year-old Woman were injured in the shooting.

Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a fight that involved a group of young people in the area. Police said one of those suspects pulled out a handgun and fired at least two shots, hitting the victims.

Officers responded to the shooting within minutes, but both suspects fled into a parking structure after the shooting, police said.
Officers did detain one person, but later released them when they determined they were not involved in the shooting, Bettison said.
Police believe the suspected shooter was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue shorts and white and blue Nike Air Force One shoes. They are also looking for an individual who they said was with the suspected shooter. Police said he was wearing a white T-shirt, white pants and white sneakers. He added that both suspects are between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with slim builds.
