Double Shooting In Wayne County Leaves 2 Teens Hurt: Police
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument.
HAMTRAMCK, MI — Two teens were injured in a shooting Monday night in Hamtramck, police said.
The shooting happened at 8:45 p.m. Monday night near the Hamtramck Housing Commission's complex in Hamtramck, police said.
A 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were injured in the shooting and taken to a nearby hospital where they are both expected to survive, police said.

Investigators have a strong lead on a suspected shooter, but they did not immediately release any further details.

"It’s just unfortunate, this situation does not represent the entire community. But at the end of the day, we have to come together, police and community, to apprehend this individual and send a strong message of stop the violence, stop the cycle of violence," Hamtramck Police Chief Jamiel Altaheri said.
