5 New Restaurants And Bars That Opened Across Metro Detroit In March

METRO DETROIT — Many new bars and restaurants opened in March across metro Detroit. Among them were a couple of sandwich shops in Oakland County, two new spots inside the newly renovated Dearborn Inn hotel and a new cocktail bar in downtown Detroit.

There were also a handful of bars and restaurants that closed in March across metro Detroit. Among them were a popular Italian restaurant, a gastropub and a couple of bars.

Here are five bars and restaurants that opened across the Detroit area in March:

The Dirty Shake, Midtown Detroit

  • A new casual bar that is known for cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and bar bites, including chicken wings and burgers.
  • Located at the corner of Forest and Second avenues in Detroit on Friday, March 14.
  • Open Monday-Thursday and Sundays: 11:30 a.m. to midnight andFridays and Saturdays: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dearborn Inn, Dearborn

  • The hotel recently opened two dining concepts, Clara’s Table (an American restaurant inspired by Clara Ford's gardens) and a cocktail bar called Four Vagabonds.
  • Located at 20301 Oakwood Blvd, near the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation and Greenfield Village in Dearborn
  • Clara’s Table is open every day from 7 to 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 5 to 10 p.m.
  • Four Vagabonds is open every day from 6:00 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 11 p.m.

La Pecora Nera, Birmingham

  • Sandwich shop best known for their traditional and non-traditional sandwiches, salads, coffee and gelato.
  • Located at 135 Pierce Street, near Townhouse and Toast in downtown Birmingham.
  • Open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Qilin Dumplings, Plymouth

  • A Chinese restaurant best known for its traditional Chinese handmade dumplings.
  • Located inside the Michigan Life Science and Innovation Center, which is located along Commerce Center Drive just off Beck Road and Michigan 14.
  • Open during lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

New York Deli, Royal Oak

  • Best known for its signature sandwiches, including the Manhatter, which includes is a grilled chicken topped with pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, onion, avocado, pickle, and Russian dressing on a grilled bun.
  • Located at 32906 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, the former spot of Al's Famous Deli
  • Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, closed on Sunday.

Here are five bars and restaurants that opened across the Detroit area in March:

Bar Louie

The gastropub chain closed down its locations in Livonia (Laurel Park Place) and Auburn Hills (Great Lakes Crossing). The chain's locations in Royal Oak, located on Main Street, and the one in Clinton Township, located in the Mall at Partridge Creek, will stay open. Those are the only two locations left in Michigan.

Bobcat Bonnie's Corktown

The Gastropub closed its flagship location along Michigan Avenue in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood where it opened ten years ago. The gastropub still has locations open in Ferndale and Lansing. The upbeat and hip restaurant is best known for its burgers, sandwiches, salads and a variety of sides.

Loaded Dice Brewery

The brewery, which opened in 2020, was located along Rochester Road in Troy. The owners cited what they say are tough market conditions in closing down. The owners concluded, "This isn't goodbye — just see ya later."

Rebuy Brewing Co.

Loaded Dice's sister spot, which was located in Shelby Township. It was formerly Brooks Brewing.

Zeoli's Modern Italian

The restaurant, which was located along 14 Mile Road in Clawson, was best-known for their wide selection of Italian specialties and its weekend brunch service, which included, omelets, French toast and Nutella Grilled cheese.
