Christmas Day House Fire In Detroit Kills 2 Children
Two children — ages 6 and 7 — died Christmas Day during a house fire in Detroit.
DETROIT, MI — Two children died early Christmas morning during a house fire on Detroit's east side, according to multiple reports.
The children, identified by WDIV-TV as Dylan, 6, and Demarion, 7, were with their mother and three other siblings when a fire started at their Helen Street home, the TV station reported.
The mother of the children and the three surviving siblings jumped from a second-floor window to get to safety, officials told WXYZ. They were hospitalized but are expected to be OK, according to WDIV-TV.

When fire crews entered the home, they found the two children who died in the house's living room, WXYZ reported.
An 8-year-old girl had third-degree burns on her hands and face, while a 10-year-old boy had third-degree burns to his hands and face as well as smoke inhalations, authorities told WXYZ.
