Crash On I-94 In Detroit Leads To Pill Bust, Police Say
When police attempted to handcuff the driver, he broke free and ran, police said.
DETROIT, MI — A crash on I-94 in Detroit late Monday led to the seizure of Oxycontin pills and $8,000 in cash, Michigan State Police said.
Police said they responded to westbound I-94, near M-10, following reports of a crash. When they arrived, the troopers said the driver of the crashed vehicle may have been under the influence of drugs. The driver took a field sobriety test and failed, police said.
When police attempted to handcuff the driver, he broke free and ran, police said. Troopers said they ran after the man, across I-94, eventually using a Taser on the suspect. The man eventually was arrested, police said.

Troopers said they retrieved approximately $8,000 in cash and 43 suspected Oxycontin pills from the suspect's vehicle.
