Detroit Lions To Play On Christmas Day 2025: Reports

DETROIT — The Detroit Lions are used to playing on Thanksgiving Day, but now it appears they'll be playing on Christmas Day this year, according to multiple reports.

The Lions will travel to Minnesota to face division rival the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day this year, according to reports from Ben Goessling with The Minnesota Star Tribune and Jordan Schultz with Fox Sports.

The reports did not indicate a kick-off time. Last year, the NFL held two games on Christmas Day, and both of them aired exclusively on Netflix.

Reports also say the Lions will open their season in Green Bay against division rival the Green Bay Packers.

The full NFL schedule will be released Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on the NFL Network and ESPN 2.
