The magazine also noted longtime favorites, such as Avalon International Breads, Warda Patisserie and New Palace Bakery, which is best known for its famous paczki.
The Evening Bar, which is located in downtown Detroit, was also praised by the magazine. It came in as the third-best hotel bar in the nation.
"Dimly lit and devoid of windows, The Evening Bar is what its owner refers to as a classic hotel drinks parlor," Food & Wine said.
The magazine praised the bar's seasonally inspired cocktails, such as the Evil Twin. It also praised the bar's creative bar snacks like the coconut curry cashews or the blue crab tostada.
The Global Tastemakers Awards are intended as a guide to help tourists find great food and drinks they travel around the United States and internationally. In the United States, the following awards were presented.
