Detroit Police Investigating Shooting That Led To Crash
The victim's vehicle was later involved in a rear-end crash in Southfield, police said.
DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Police Department is investigating a possible highway shooting.
Michigan State Troopers said they were called around 3:20 a.m. Monday to northbound M-39, north of 8 Mile Road, in Southfield where they found a vehicle in the left northbound lane of M-39.
Troopers said that following an investigation, it appears the vehicle was driven by a person who was involved in a shooting in Detroit on 7 Mile Road near M-39.

After being shot, the victim drove away from the scene, entering M-39 and coming to rest in the far left lane of the road, police said. Another vehicle, uninvolved with the shooting, rear-ended the victims vehicle, police said.
The shooting victim ran from the scene on foot and was located by Southfield Police, authorities said.
