Detroit's Street Art Ranks Among Best In Country, U.S.A. Today Says

Hundreds of local artists have been painting murals throughout the city over the years, giving Detroit a sense of revitalization.

DETROIT — Detroit has some of the best street art in the entire country, according to USA Today’s 2025 list of the 10 U.S. Cities With The Best Street Art Collections.

The outlet ranked Detroit at no. 4, ahead of other prominent cities, including Chicago and Nashville.

Only Jackson (Tennessee), Cincinnati and Philadelphia were ranked ahead of Detroit in the ranking.

"You can take in Motor City's mural art from the seat of your car. Detroit’s Grand River Creative Corridor stands out as a highlight, with nearly 100 murals between Rosa Parks Boulevard and Warren Avenue. Alternatively, you can ride the Detroit People Mover's 2.9-mile loop and explore Art in the Stations' collection of 13 mixed-media displays," wrote USA Today of its ranking.

Hundreds of local artists have been painting murals throughout the city over the years, turning unrecognizable stretches of land into tourist attractions. Some of the best murals grace downtown, Eastern Market, southwest Detroit and the Grand River corridor, giving Detroit a better understating and a sense of revitalization.

The creative artwork and its colors are turning what was once a blank canvas of empty and vacant buildings into a celebration of urban life, and the city's rebirth through cultural inspirations.
