Federal Investigation Results in Suspension of 6 Detroit Police Officers

The officers are currently suspended with pay.

DETROIT, MI — A federal investigation has resulted in the suspension of six Detroit police officers, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Sources say that the officers are in different areas throughout the department but each of them had involvement with vehicle towing.

Director of the Detroit police department's media relations, Michael Woody told the Free Press that the officers have been suspended with pay and it's unknown if criminal charges will be filed against them.

Details on the investigation were not available but Woody was able to rule out any involvement with a previous narcotics investigation for the plotting of phony drug busts with the assistance of drug dealers.
