Heat Advisory Issued: Heat Index Of 101 Possible Across Detroit Area
The dangerous heat will create opportunities for storms Thursday.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — A heat advisory has been issued for all of southeastern Michigan on Thursday as real-feel temperatures are expected to reach triple digits.
The advisory will go into effect at 11 a.m. and last through 8 p.m. Thursday when highs can reach the mid-90s. High humidity can push heat indexes to 101 degrees across the region Thursday, the weather service said.

- Never leave anyone alone in a closed car.
- Use air conditioners and stay in the shade.
- Drink plenty of water, even if you're not thirsty.
- Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
The dangerous heat will create opportunities for storms Thursday, though forecasters are unsure of the exact coverage and timing.
Forecasters warned any storm that pops up Thursday across the region can produce strong winds up to 60 miles per hour and heavy downpours with up to 2 inches of rain per hour. Large hail and even tornadoes will also be possible.

All of southeastern Michigan faces a marginal threat (level 1/5) for severe weather Thursday.
Highs will fall back down into the low 80s on Friday with sporadic rain showers across the region, the weather service said.
