Historic Detroit Mansion Sees $2M Price Cut: See Photos

DETROIT — The largest mansion in Detroit has seen its price slashed by $2 million.
Bishop Mansion, located at 19366 Lucerne Dr. in the historic Palmer Woods neighborhood, is now listed for $7 million. It was initially listed for $9 million more than 300 days ago.
The 33,000-square foot mansion features 12 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and 10 fireplaces. Thought the mansion is still listed as a construction site, numerous renovations have been made, including new windows, new tile roof and copper gutters, all new electrical, plumbing and gas underground services prepped to be brought into the home.

Other parts of the mansion's interior have undergone a strategic demo to allow for a new HVAC system that's designed for modern plumbing and electrical.
There has also been restoration work done to the home's brick and stone structure, which was also thoroughly cleaned. Outside the home, the carriage house and garage have been completely restored and renovated.

The mansion dates back to 1925 and was once owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit and home to Catholic Bishop Michael Gallagher, and former Detroit Piston John Salley in 1989. The mansion was sold to a California investor for over $2.5 million in 2017.
