Metro Detroit Man Killed In Motorcyle Crash On I-75: Police

Police said the motorcyclist was speeding in and out of traffic when he lost control and crashed into the back of a car.

DETROIT — A Macomb County man died Tuesday after crashing his motorcycle on Interstate 75 in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday on southbound Interstate 75 near Warren Avenue in Detroit, according to police.

Police said the 30-year-old Washington Township man was speeding in and out of traffic when he lost control of the bike and smashed into the back of a Hyundai in the center left lane.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.

The driver of the Hyundai was not injured in the crash, according to police.

"We continue to see excessive speed causing too many preventable crashes," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "This risky driving behavior is even worse on a motorcycle or with an inexperienced driver."
