Michigan Adds 182 More Coronavirus Deaths Thursday

Michigan also added 5,937 new coronavirus cases Thursday, bringing the state's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 421,137.

MICHIGAN — Michigan on Thursday added more than 180 new deaths attributed to the coronavirus, state health officials reported in their daily update of statewide COVID-19 data.

The state reported 182 more COVID-19 deaths, 132 of which were identified during a Vital Records review, according to health officials. The increase brings the Michigan coronavirus death toll to 10,395.

Michigan also added 5,937 new coronavirus cases Thursday, bringing the state's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 421,137.

Michigan reported 4,905 new COVID-19 cases and 75 new COVID-19 deaths Wednesday. More than 197,000 people in Michigan have recovered from the coronavirus, state health officials said Saturday.

According to the World Health Organization, Michigan ranks in the nation's Top 10 for both reported COVID-19 cases and COVID-19 deaths.

In the U.S., nearly 16 million COVID-19 cases have been reported, according to the World Health Organization. Nearly 300,000 of those cases have resulted in death, while more than 9.2 million have reportedly led to recovery.

Nearly 70.5 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Over 1.5 million COVID-19 deaths and more than 49 million COVID recoveries also have been reported worldwide.
