Michigan Coronavirus Cases Reach 139,000 Wednesday
Nearly 7,000 coronavirus deaths have been reported in Michigan as of Wednesday, according to state health officials.
MICHIGAN — Michigan has eclipsed the 139,000-mark in confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to state health data released Wednesday.
State health officials reported that as of Wednesday morning, 139,061 cases of the coronavirus had been confirmed in Michigan. Officials said 1,359 new cases were confirmed Wednesday. The state also reported 13 more people have died from the coronavirus, bringing the statewide death toll in Michigan to 6,941.
Michigan added more than 1,200 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday. The state also reported an increase of 30 more COVID-19 deaths. More than 100,000 people in the state have recovered from the coronavirus as of Saturday, officials have reported.

Michigan continues to drop in terms of states with the highest reported number of COVID-19 cases, according to the World Health Organization. Michigan is currently 19th in the U.S. in reported cases, while also ranking 10th in the nation in COVID-19 deaths.

More than 8.1 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the U.S., according to the World Health Organization. That includes more than 221,000 deaths attributed to the coronavirus as well as more than 5.2 million COVID-19 recoveries.
Over 38.6 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. The number of COVID-19 deaths exceeds 1 million, while more than 29 million people around the world have recovered from the coronavirus.
