MSP: Part Of I-94 To Close At 1 P.M. For Crash Investigation
Part of eastbound I-94 in Detroit will be closed at 1 p.m. today as Michigan State Police investigate a deadly crash from Monday.
DETROIT, MI — Part of eastbound I-94 in Detroit will be closed today starting at 1 p.m. as Michigan State Police continue to gather evidence after a woman was killed while changing a tire on the freeway Monday.
Eastbound I-94, near Conner, will be closed at 1 p.m. Michigan State Police are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible. The closure could last up to two hours, police said.

A 55-year-old Detroit woman died Monday after being hit by a vehicle while changing a tire on her vehicle with her husband on eastbound I-94.
Troopers said they were called to eastbound I-94 and Barrett Avenue in Detroit around 11:35 a.m. following reports of a crash involving pedestrians.

According to troopers, a husband and wife were on the right shoulder of the road changing a flat tire when a pickup truck swerved to avoid a rear end crash that took place on the freeway and struck both people changing the tire.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital for their injuries, troopers said The wife died while the husband suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.
