New Shared Reality Sports Venue Coming To Downtown Detroit

DETROIT — An immersive technology, media and entertainment company is brining a new way to watch sports and entertainment to Detroit.

Cosm, a company that specializes in offering fans a shared reality to live sports, is partnering with Bedrock to open a new venue to Detroit’s Cadillac Square.

The venue will give fans a front row seat to live sports and entertainment events in a virtual world by merging state-of-the-art visuals with the energy of the crowd through a 26.6-meter 12K+ LED dome.

The venue will feature a variety of sports through partnerships with the NBA, UFC, TNT, NBC, ESPN, FOX and the NFL.

"This was a transformative technology and experience that we knew we had to bring to Detroit, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it firsthand," Gilbert said.

Cosm Detroit will be complemented by Bedrock’s plans at the site for a multi-level market hall that will feature sit-down and fast-casual dining options.

The location along Cadillac Square, is close to Campus Martius Park.

"I can’t think of a better place for our fourth venue," Cosm’s President and CEO Jeb Terry said. "Detroit embodies the right mix of sports fandom, enterprising spirit and energy, and we are honored to be part of the downtown revitalization that Dan Gilbert and his team are driving."

There are also venues in Los Angeles and Dallas, and there are plans for a venue in Atlanta. Detroit will the company’s fourth venue.
