DETROIT — A popular vegetarian restaurant in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood is closing down after 14 years.

Seva, known for their popular vegan and vegetarian dishes, announced its last day will be Friday, Feb. 28.

Officials said the restaurant is closing down due to financial challenges that have made operations unsustainable.

"This is not the outcome we had hoped for, but after years of financial challenges since Covid, we've reached a point where we can no longer sustain operations," officials said.

Seva Detroit is located at 66 East Forest Avenue in Detroit.

"We’ve cherished being a part of your lives," officials said. "Whether it was for a quick lunch, a first date, a birthday celebration, or simply a place where you always knew you’d find a delicious meal and a familiar face."

Officials said the restaurant's Ann Arbor location will stay open.
