SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Severe thunderstorms are possible this week as temperatures surge into the 80s across southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
The strong thunderstorms are expected to move into the region during the afternoon and evening hours on Tuesday when highs reach the lower 80s, according to the weather service.
Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of heavy downpours, large hail 1 inch in diameter and strong winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour.

As of Monday morning, there is a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather across southeastern Michigan on Tuesday.
Drier weather will return to the region Wednesday, before more rain chances Thursday and Friday, according to the weather service.
