Shepard Fired From WDFN: Reports
Longtime WDFN sports personality Matt Shepard was fired by the radio station Monday, according to reports.
METRO DETROIT, MI — One of Detroit’s most recognizable sports personalities has been fired by WDFH-AM (1130). Media reports claim that Matt Shepard was axed Monday night. “Shep In the Morning” was replaced by nationally syndicated programming on Tuesday.
Neither the station or Shepard has confirmed the firing, but Shepard took to Twitter Tuesday morning saying: "As you can tell, my show is no longer. I thank the listeners (friends) for the support and conversation over the yrs. It's been an honor.” Shepard had been a fixture at the station since 2001, a report in the Detroit News said.
Shepard is one of metropolitan Detroit’s hardest working sports personalities. He is the play-by-play man for the University of Michigan basketball team as well as the Eastern Michigan University football team. Shepard works as a reporter for Fox Sports Detroit.

Shepard, who grew up in the Detroit area, also does play-by-play for Fox’s high school basketball championships. He is a two-time Michigan sportscaster of the year winner. Sports fans showed their support of Shepard on Twitter Tuesday.
It's a shame what happened to Matt Shepard at WDFN. That's a money move.

@ShepMatt Won't ever tune in again. Mike and Mike is a horrible replacement. Wherever you catch on Matt I'll tune in
