Temps To Reach 80s With Storms Across Metro Detroit This Week

Forecasters expect temperatures to stay above average for most of the week.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Rain and thunderstorms will return to metro Detroit this week with summer-like temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures should reach the 80s on Monday under sunny skies, before the first wave of rain arrives during the nighttime hours and continues overnight, according to the weather service.

The rain will stick around for most of Tuesday when highs hit the mid-70s across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.

Wednesday should start dry before thunderstorms roll into the area during the afternoon hours when highs reach the upper 70s, according to the weather service.

Another round of thunderstorms will cross the region Thursday when temperatures will be even warmer, according to the weather service.

As of Monday, forecasters believe there's a chance Thursday's storms could be severe.

More rain showers are expected to close out the week and through the first half of the weekend, according to the weather service.

Monday: Sunny; High 80, Low 60

Tuesday: Rain; High 75, Low 60

Wednesday: Storms; High 76, Low 61

Thursday: Storms; High 82, Low 64

Friday: Rain; High 84, Low 61
