Storms Possible As Heat Indexes Reach 100 Degrees Across Detroit Area: Forecast

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Isolated thunderstorms are possible across southeastern Michigan on Monday amid oppressive heat and humidity, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said storms can pop up across the region during the afternoon hours Monday when highs reach the 90s with the real feel near 100 degrees.

The high heat and humidity will stick around Tuesday with more chances for isolated thunderstorms, the weather service said.
As of Monday morning, the weather service has not issued a heat advisory for Tuesday due to the uncertainty of thunderstorms.

Cooler air will move into the region Wednesday, also bringing a chance for showers and storms, the weather service said.
Highs will then fall slightly below average through the rest of the week, the weather service said.
