Storms Possible Wednesday Across Detroit Area: What To Know

The weather service has placed all of southeastern Michigan under a marginal risk (level 1/5) for severe weather Wednesday.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — A powerful line of storms is expected to hit southeastern Michigan on Wednesday amid very warm and humid temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms will move into the area sometime between 2 and 8 p.m. Wednesday when highs reach the upper 80s, the weather service said.

Forecasters warned the storms could produce heavy downpours, large hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour.

There will be another chance for rain on Friday before a mostly dry weekend with highs in the 70s, the weather service said.
