Storms Possible Wednesday Before High Heat, Humidity Returns: Metro Detroit Weather
Most of southeastern Michigan is under a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather both Wednesday and Thursday.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Scattered thunderstorms are possible across southeastern Michigan on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said the storms should develop north of Interstate 94 between 4 and 8 p.m. Wednesday when highs reach the upper 80s.
Forecasters warned any storm that develops will be capable of heavy downpours, small hail and strong winds up to 60 miles per hour.

The storms will fade away during the nighttime hours, but they could return Thursday afternoon, the weather service said.
Like Wednesday, forecasters do not expect those storms to be widespread.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of southeastern Michigan under a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather both Wednesday and Thursday.
Temperatures will stick to the 80s on Friday (Independence Day), before more heat and humidity move into the region, pushing highs into the 90s over the weekend, the weather service said.
