There's a marginal risk for strong to severe storms​ (1/5) on Thursday afternoon when highs reach the low 70s across the region.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Strong thunderstorms are possible Thursday as multiple waves of rain cross southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters believe most of the strong storms will pop up south of Interstate 94. The storms will be able to produce heavy downpours and damaging wind gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour.

The rain will carry over into Friday when temperatures slightly cool back into the 60s. Chances for rain stick around over the weekend with highs in the 60s. Highs will warm back up into the 70s next week, the weather service says.
