60 MPH Winds, Small Hail Possible Across Detroit Area Friday

Forecasters warned some storms may cause heavy downpours, small hail and strong winds reaching up to 50-60 miles per hour.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — More storms are expected across southeastern Michigan on Friday when temperatures cool down from Thursday's 80-degree day, according to the National Weather Service.

The scattered thunderstorms will move into the region sometime between noon and 8 p.m. Friday when highs make it into the 70s, according to the weather service.

The storms will fade away during the nighttime hours Friday as a cold front settles into the region, according to the weather service.

Highs will fall back into the 50s on Saturday before climbing back into the 60s on Sunday. Temperatures will then warm back up into the 70s and 80s with a few rain chances early next week, according to the weather service.
