Toledo Mud Hens Plan 'Beatles Night'

METRO DETROIT, MI — Minor league baseball has a rich history of creative marketing schemes to attract fans to the ballpark. Clowns, mini-motorcycle races and the list goes on and on. The Toledo Mud Hens — Detroit’s minor league AAA affiliate — may have come up with a first, however.

“Beatles Night” will see the Hens wear Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band-themed uniforms on June 16. No, that’s not a misprint. And here’s a Twitter post from the minor league franchise to prove it:

There are no other details from the Hens on what else Beatles Night might include for fans. So, let’s do a little speculating just for fun:

• People age 64 get 64 percent of their tickets
• The Mud Hens pull off a victory With A Little Help From Their Friends
• Lovely Rita sings the National Anthem
• Start the game at 11 a.m. so fans have a Good Morning Good Morning
