Tornadoes, 60 MPH Winds, Flooding Possible Friday In Detroit Area

Southeastern Michigan is under a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather Friday.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — More thunderstorms are expected to hit southeastern Michigan on Friday as heat and humidity rise through the afternoon hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms will roll into the area between 4 and 9 p.m. when highs reach 90 degrees with the real feel around 100 degrees, the weather service said.

Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of heavy downpours, flooding, winds up to 60 miles per hour and tornadoes.

The next chance for thunderstorms comes Monday when highs again reach the 90s with elevated humidity levels, the weather service said.
