Tornado, Hail, 60 MPH Winds To Hit Detroit Area Thursday
All of southeastern Michigan is under a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather Thursday night.
METRO DETROIT — Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit the metro Detroit area amid a warm and humid Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
High temperatures will hit the 80s with elevated humidity levels across the region before the storms move into the area during the nighttime hours between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., according to the weather service.
Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours, large hail, damaging wind gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour and even an isolated tornado.

Highs across the region will soar into the 80s again Friday, but with less humidity. There is also a chance for more storms Friday night. Forecasters warned some of those storms could be strong.

A weekend cool front will knock highs back into the 60s, though it should be mostly dry. Cooler temperatures in the 60s will stick around for most of next week, according to the weather service.
