Trump In Detroit Thursday For Campaign Event

DETROIT — Former President Donald Trump is in Detroit Thursday for a campaign event with less than a month before Election Day.

Trump is scheduled to speak to Detroit Economic Club business leaders at the MotorCity Casino Hotel's Soundboard theater Thursday.

The special event is not open to the public and is available exclusively for DEC members. It starts at 10:30 a.m. and Trump is expected to speak at 1 p.m.

Trump spoke to the Detroit Economic Club at Detroit's Huntington Place convention in August 2016 during his first presidential run in 2016. He later went on to win Michigan that year by roughly 10,700 over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Trump was in Michigan last Thursday for a campaign event in Saginaw. It was his 11th campaign event in Michigan this year.

Trump's running mate JD Vance was also in Detroit earlier this week when he spoke at Eastern Market. In that visit, Vance talked about electric vehicles and the auto industry.

Michigan election officials have already begun mailing out absentee ballots and early voting starts soon across the state.
