Trump Holding Detroit Rally This Week

The campaign event will happen one week after Trump criticized Detroit while speaking to members of the Detroit Economic Club.

DETROIT — Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally in downtown Detroit this week, according to campaign officials.

The rally will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Huntington Place in downtown Detroit. You can register for tickets here.

"Michigan prides itself on being the auto capital of the world, and it's crucial to Michigan's economy," a Trump campaign news release said. "President Donald J. Trump and Senator Vance have shown time and time again that they are dedicated to supporting and rebuilding the auto industry, starting with encouraging American manufacturing jobs."

The campaign event will happen one week after Trump criticized Detroit while speaking to members of the Detroit Economic Club at the Motor City Casino.

"The whole country will be like — you want to know the truth? It'll be like Detroit," Trump said. "Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she's your president."

Trump is also expected to hold an event Friday in Oakland County.

Democratic presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris will also be in Michigan this week. Harris will be in Detroit Tuesday for a radio town hall with host Charlamagne Tha God.

After that, she will visit Grand Rapids, Lansing and an Oakland County location on Friday, before coming back to Detroit on Saturday, which is the first day of early voting in the city.
