Woman Dead, Man Hurt In Detroit Shooting: Police

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

DETROIT — A woman was killed and a man was wounded in a Tuesday morning shooting in Detroit, according to police.

Detroit Police Captain John Stewart told reporters the shooting happened at 4 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Pinewood Street near 7 Mile and Schoenherr.

When officers arrived at the home, Stewart said they were approached by a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, Stewart said.

When officers searched inside the home, they found a woman in her 20s shot dead, Stewart said.

Stewart said the suspects drove away from the home after the shooting. He did not provide any descriptions or a motive for the shooting. He noted there were shell castings inside and outside the home.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, which is still under investigation.

Police asked anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or knows something about it to call Detroit police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
