A woman who was found breathing at a Detroit funeral home has died, according to reports.

DETROIT, MI — A woman thought to have died only to later be found breathing at a Detroit-area funeral home has died, according to reports.

Timesha Beauchamp died at a local hospital as a result of brain damage, according to WXYZ, who cited the Beauchamp family's attorney.

First responders said Beauchamp was dead after responding to her home Aug. 23 after family members found her unresponsive. She was later found breathing by staff at a Detroit funeral home.

The family's attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, has filed a $50 million lawsuit against the Southfield EMS paramedics in the case, according to WXYZ. He previously said police put Beauchamp in a body bag at the home, where she stayed for about 2 1/2 hours before being found alive.

Southfield public safety officials have refuted that claim, calling it "absolutely untrue."

At least two of the paramedics who responded to the scene in August had their licenses suspended.

Beauchamp had been in critical condition at Sinai Grace Hospital and on a ventilator. She was born with cerebral palsy and has always needed constant medical care, according to The Associated Press.
