Woman Says Uber Driver Tried To Kidnap Her In Detroit

Here's how a frightening scene unfolded in Detroit, prompting a woman to jump from a moving vehicle to escape.

DETROIT, MI — A woman said she had to jump out of a moving Uber in Detroit recently to get away from a driver she said was trying to kidnap her, according to reports. The woman, who does not want to be identified, said the driver turned off the app, locked the doors and started speeding while driving the woman home on the city's west side, Channel 4 reported.

"He looked at me and started speeding, but before that he started speeding, he locked the doors," the victim told Channel 4.

She told the news outlet that the driver started blasting music and refused to answer any questions. She then jumped out of the minivan. No major injuries were reported.
