Council also heard about noise monitoring near DexTech, discussed preserving Monument Park, reviewed fire station progress, and began union negotiations that could shape future city operations and services.
   

• Dexter Council Amends Fire Authority Funding Agreement (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter City Council has approved a new funding formula for the Dexter Area Fire Department that splits half of the budget equally among Dexter, Dexter Township, and Webster Township, with the rest based on call volume. City leaders say this ensures all three communities keep fully staffed stations and equal readiness, but the change still needs approval from the township boards before taking effect.
   

• Dexter Girls' Take Down Brighton in Season Opener - The Sun Times News (thesuntimesnews.com) — Dexter’s girls’ basketball team opened their season with a strong 55-46 comeback win over Brighton, powered by big nights from Layla Blumberg and Addy Wylie. After trailing early, the Dreadnaughts took control late and hit key free throws, setting up their next test Saturday in the Best of Michigan Holiday Classic against Cass Tech in Belleville.
